Meet Ahmad Abdullah, BYA’s new graphic design and product development instructor! Ahmad is a self-taught Graphic Designer and Digital Media Instructor who began his professional journey in 2006. Ahmad has worked on a variety of creative projects, ranging from social campaigns to short documentaries over the course of his career. In the fall of 2012, Ahmad switched his career focus to digital media education, taking a position at Baltimore Talent Development High School. He has since been involved in various media instruction roles with nonprofits, schools, and community initiatives throughout the Baltimore area.
Ahmad emphasizes the importance of visual design as a tool for media literacy, entrepreneurship, and social change for the students he works with. Passionate about instilling in youth skills that go beyond the classroom, he is a passionate educator. He currently serves as an Americorps fellow and is part of the Maryland Institute College of Art's Community Arts Collaborative.
Ahmad hopes the youth who take his course will leave equipped and eager to use media as a tool to engage the world strategically.
